Fife Sustainable Business Week: free support to reduce resource use and save money
Join our week of free business events in Fife this October.

We are working with Fife Council and Green Business Fife to deliver an exciting week of free events this October, aimed at helping businesses to be more sustainable and save money.
Sustainable Business Week will take place on Monday 2nd – Friday 6th October and will be open to all small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Fife. Events include:
- Breakfast briefing: How to access available finance to cut costs and grow your business
Tuesday 3rd October, 08:45 – 10:15, Dunfermline
Aimed at business managers to explore how they can finance resource efficiency projects and investments to save money. This event includes one-to-one resource efficiency clinics with an advisor from 10:15 onwards (see below for more information).
- Green Champions workshop
Wednesday 4th October, 10:00 – 16:00, Leven
A full day’s free training event showing businesses how to save money by using resources more efficiently. Attendees will learn how to better engage colleagues to improve resource efficiency within their business to support business improvements.
- Showcase event – Diageo, and Fife Council’s hydrogen refuelling station
Thursday 5th October, 11:00 – 13:15, Glenrothes
An opportunity to hear about the successful resource efficiency and sustainability improvements that Diageo has made and understand how these could also be implemented in your business. The event includes a visit to Fife Council’s hydrogen fleet refuelling station, providing useful insight into the benefits of using alternative fuels and moving toward a green fleet.
- Showcase tour – Eros Retail
Friday 6th October, 10:00 – 12:00, Markinch
Join this tour to find out how Eros Retail has improved energy and resource efficiency at its Markinch store, enabling it to dramatically cut its energy bills.
- Resource Efficiency clinics – bookable face-to-face meetings with a resource efficiency advisor to find out how your business can lower its utility bills through energy efficiency and resource efficiency.
