The course includes the case for resource efficiency; how to assess your energy use and needs; quick fixes to upgrade your lighting, heating and water; waste management policies covering reduce, re-use, recycle; and improving staff engagement and senior support.

You can choose to work through the whole course or cherry pick a selection of self-contained modules. Complete the foundation modules to receive your CPD certified Green Champions certificate and access partical and advance level modules.

Green network for businesses

We learn best when we learn from each other, which is why we’ve devised our green network, allowing you to plug into a network of like-minded organisations and see resource efficiency in action.

Just type in your postcode, and we'll plug you into your local network. We know you're busy, so we've enabled you to refine your search to specifics. Search by sector, by age of premises or by resource efficiency measures in the supply chain. Look up renewable technology options for being greener – from PV solar to biomass wood-chip boilers. The green network also enables you to see what the competition is up to, share information and best practice, and perhaps even lay the foundations for profitable partnerships.

Resource Efficiency Pledge

This Scottish Government-backed scheme encourages Scottish businesses to save energy, water and raw materials, by showing their commitment to resource efficiency.

Take the Pledge, and select three actions to tackle in the next 12 months. These range from reducing your electricity usage by five per cent, to promoting the use of public transport, to reducing the litter your business may accrue.

In return we can give you branded marketing materials to promote your environmental commitment and one-to-one support to help you complete your chosen actions. And we'll award successful completion with a bronze certificate, which can be further upgraded to silver, gold and platinum.
