Resource Efficiency Pledge

This Scottish Government-backed scheme encourages Scottish businesses to save energy, water and raw materials, by showing their commitment to resource efficiency. 

Take the Pledge, and select three actions to tackle in the next 12 months. These range from reducing your electricity usage by five per cent, to promoting the use of public transport, to reducing the litter your business may accrue. 

In return we can give you branded marketing materials to promote your environmental commitment and one-to-one support to help you complete your chosen actions. And we'll award successful completion with a bronze certificate, which can be further upgraded to silver, gold and platinum.

Do you have too much of one thing and not enough of another? Our Construction Materials Exchange is a free service that enables you to exchange materials you don't need for ones you do. Everything you need to get your build completed is covered from pipes, paints and pallets to bricks, soil, wood and more. Better still you can find them close to site by using your postcode to find local fellow builders.

Netwaste construction tool

If you are in construction we encourage you to make use of WRAP’s Net Waste Tool. It’s yours to use for free to help generate waste forecasts and prioritise waste reduction and recovery actions for your Site Waste Management Plan.

The tool enables you to apply value engineering at the design stage to;

  • reduce the costs of wastage
  • optimise your strategy for on-site segregation of wastes for minimum cost within a known space constraint;
  • target the top cost-competitive opportunities to adopt more reused materials and higher recycled content in building products
